Outlining with Plottr Pro

When fourteen year old Katya was writing her first fanfictions, she had a huge three ring binder full of charts and diagrams to keep her stories straight. Thankfully life got a lot easier when I picked up writing fiction again as an adult. (Non-fiction’s a little easier to keep straight, bullet journal always did the trick.)

Before I started writing Hurricane Ryan, I was working on a paranormal romance trilogy, but I was struggling. Then I got the idea for Hurricane Ryan and that story fell by the wayside. Determined to do better on my second go around, I decided to give outlining a try and got a free download for Plottr. I wound up outlining all FOUR books in less than a week, and while I haven’t gotten back to the paranormal romance yet, I’ve got the outlines sitting ready to go for after I finish the Sea Side Cove series. (Currently planned at three books, I’m working on book two right now!)

I knew without a doubt I was keeping Plottr, and I got invited to a beta run on Plottr Pro and I jumped on it. Everything I loved about it already and now it would sync to my cell phone so I could make notes whenever they occurred to me: on a run or at the dog park. Sold!

I absolutely love this software. It lets me build a character bible that I can link to multiple books, detailed outlines in two different views, locations, notes, you name it, this software has a place for it. It’s fantastic and I cannot say enough good things about it.

eReaderIQ

I find 90% of the books I read on Kindle Unlimited. It’s not that I don’t want to buy books, but I’m a girl on a budget and I don’t have a lot of storage space for physical books. However, there are books I want to read that I can’t get on Kindle Unlimited, Libby, or...

Hoopla: Free EBooks and More

How to Use Libby to Read Ebooks for Free

You see Libby get referenced a lot in the online book world, but not everyone knows what it is. I will fully admit it took me an embarrassingly long time to actually figure out how you use it. So, I thought I’d explain it. Libby is a free online book borrowing service...

How to Turn Any Kindle Book Into an Audiobook

There are a lot of people who prefer listening to audiobooks than sitting down to read a traditional book. I'm not one of them, but that's okay. The only time I use audiobooks is on a road trips when I need long term entertainment, although I usually listen to books...

My Top Ten Books of 2022 So Far

Since we're now halfway through 2022, I thought I'd go through my reading log and pick my top ten for the year so far. I count series as one book if I read them all back to back, so this list includes seven standalones and three series.10. Sacrificed to the Fae King...
